Hawaiian lomilomi is a quintessential mind, body and spirit approach to healing. This ancient bodywork approach focuses on problem-solving techniques that are deep but not invasive to the client and easy for the therapist to deliver with little demand on their body. This introductory class will combine short lectures with concentrated table time to explore this comprehensive and effective approach to healing.Students will be introduced to the use of hot stone therapy in the spa and clinical practice environment.

In this comprehensive 27 CE hour Mana Lomi® level 1 workshop you will learn a full body treatment effective.for both relaxation and clinical practice applications AND fulfill your OBMT 4 hr ethics requirement.! We focus primarily on delivering deep yet non-invasive touch using your body weight to deliver therapeutic results with little stress on your body.This ancient healing philosophy provides a solid foundation for ethics discussions to indentify your personal values, strengthen your communication with your clients and yourself, and support your navigation of difficult boundaries you may encounter in our profession.
In this level 1 class you will:
- Fulfill the 4 hrs of Ehtics required by the OBMT
- Learn a 60 and 90 minute full body lomi lomi routine
- Explore ways to use your breath, posture and body weight to deliver effective work which is both deep and gentle, and also easy on the therapist’s body
- Develop your assessment and palpation skills
- Study the history of lomilomi, Hawaiian healing chants, and the concept of ho’oponopono – living in right relationship with all natural things

An introduction to treating low back, hips, knee and ankle/foot complaints. We will begin by understanding the anatomy involved and then introduce Mana Lomi® problem solving techniques for the involved soft tissues, learn how to “talk to the bones” involved in these complaints , and review appropriate self-care techniques

Self-care tools will be shared to energize your daily practice. We will apply new insights to improve client communications, our understanding of boundaries and gain clarity in resolving ethical dilemmas. 4 contact hours fulfills OBMT requirement.

This class incorporates specific use of heated stones in a traditional lomi lomi full body treatment for relaxation and injury prevention and recovery. Explore how stones combined with the ancient Hawaiian healing philosophies can be spiritually inspiring as well as effective immediate and long-term problem solving therapy. Healing self- care approaches for the therapist will allow you to work deeply with little demand on the body. Roaster and stone set included in the cost of the class.
In this Hot Stone Therapy class you will:
- Fulfill 4 hrs of Ethics required by the OBMT
- Learn to transfer your body weight by merging with the stones to introduce deep and effective treatment for both spa and clinical practice applications
- Learn a 60 and 90 minute full body, hot stone procedures
- Be introduced to the indigenous Hawaiian wisdom and energetic aspects of inviting stones into the healing event, study the history of lomi lomi and learn hawaiian healing concepts that can amplify your treatment results and keep you in alignment with your natural resevoir of health and wellness.

An individualized course designed to meet the demands of delivering effective, problem-solving deep tissue massage in spa and clinical environments. Inspired by Hawaiian massage or Lomi Lomi concepts students will learn proper use of their body weight in rhythmical long strokes and compression. Proper client postioning for maximal benefit will be discussed. The use of therapeutic, moist heat for tissue preparation will be introduced.

This retreat week consists of 2- 3 day classes 27ce hrs ea. Beginning with 3 days of Mana Lomi Level 1, one day of free time and concluding with 3 days ofMana Lomi Lomi'ili'ili: Hot Stone Therapy . This class is designed to have a relaxed pace with opportunities for both traditional learning and personally resotorative experiences for the healer in all of us.

Combine the Level 1 class and Hot Stone class for an amazing experience of skill building, immersion in learning about the indigenous wisdom of the Hawaiian culture, and enjoy a retreat to the beautiful Oregon Coast! You will be in class Sunday through Tuesday, break a full day on Wednesday, and then return for the final three days, Thursday through Saturday. This will solidify the level 1 concepts combined with a thorough understanding of incorporating hot stones into your practice. There will be opportunities for daily restoration through movement class, meditation and field trips! Many inexpensive accommodations are available for all or part of your intensive study program.

- All classes have a registration deadline date which is generally 2 weeks before the class This can change for special class locations so please note the registration deadline date.If notice of withdrawal is received by the registration deadline date allfees paid less a 3% adminitration fee will be refunded.
- If notice of withdrawal is received after registration deadline date but before class begins:
- 1) A refund of the $100 deposit on any 3 days classes is refundable or can be applied to an upcoming class within a 12 month period
- 2) There is no refund on any one days classes after the registration deadline has passed.
- Tuition is non refundable after class begins.However, any amount paid above $100 may be applied to another class within a one year period, within certain limits. Please contact me for details.
- In the unlikely event that a class is cancelled by the teacher, all money paid will be returned.
- No refunds will be made after a class has begun.
- Refunds will be made by personal check delivered via the postal mail.
